Shooting stars began to fall at an ENORMOUSE RATE

when looking through a thermel scope at the night sky

Okay, this is a TRUE story.

Now, your probaly not going to belive me right off the bat, but here goes nothing. I am only 13 years old, so you'd probaly imagine that no one belived me when I told them. I hope you will.

It was about a year ago. I was 12, and my mom and I were watching a meteor shower of sorts out in our back yard. My dad is in law enforcement. Well, okay, it wasn't really a meteor shower, but, when looking through a thermel scope at the night sky, you can see about 20 shooting stars a minute even on the cloudest night. SO, anyway, back to the story. IT was just me and my mom. IT was about 4:00 in the morning, and we kept trading the scope back and forth every two minutes or so so we would each get a turn. She had to go to the bathroom, so I was left out there alone. "Do you think you'll be okay by yourself?" she asked. "Oh, yeah. SUre." I said. Ha. Yeah right.

I was sitting there. alone. Out in the cold twilight of night, looking through a thermal scope thing at the sky. Then, the shooting stars began to fall at an ENORMOUSE RATE. I mean, like 100 per ten seconds! But when I lowered the scope, I saw only two or tthree dim stars! I looked back in through it, and saw them again. I was at first amazed, untill I heard a boom! This wasn't a loud boom, but just becase I think it was SO LOUD, it seemed quiet. I was real close by, because I saw a flash of lightning of sorts. I got up from the lawn chair I was sitting it, to go take a look. It appeared that lightning had struck the ground. There was chared grass everywhere behind my fence. I looked, and saw something that would change my whole outlook on life.

I saw some, small thing running through my back feild. I scremed really loud, and my mom rushed back outside. I was still staring at the small thing that appeared a blood red in the moonlight. I thought I heard it hiss, but it was probaly a grasshopper or something. But, what I do know, is that it ran off into my next-door-neighbor's woods. My mom rushed besideds me, and asked me what was wrong. I told her it was a gunshot. "Oh, its probaly those drunken guys down the road." she said. I was like, yeah right. I never told her that it was what I thought, a space alein, but what I do know is that I'll never forget it.
